Created with love, featuring Dr. Katie Geneva Cannon’s doodles, these Limited Edition Stoles would be a wonderful addition to your clergy attire or a beautiful gift for another.
In 2024 at General Assembly, Co-Moderators CeCe Armstrong and Tony Larson awed everyone with their custom-made stoles, which, together, form the PC(USA) symbol and cross. Following GA, the Katie Geneva Cannon Center for Womanist Leadership reached out to the designer of the stoles, Michelle Phillips. They were looking for someone to create 100 stoles using custom fabric with Cannon’s doodles. Interested but overwhelmed, Phillips sought help. Rev. CeCe gathered a group of women from five different churches in Charleston, South Carolina, to sew the stoles while Phillips recruited members from her church in Kansas City, Missouri, to cut the fabric. In December, the sewers gathered in South Carolina and created the 100 stoles in one day. “It was a long but rewarding day, and the connectional church truly came together,” said Phillips.
