Our Founder Reverend Dr. Katie Geneva Cannon valued art as site, sign, and source for creative expression. Dr. Cannon created doodles and visual artistry to feed her imagination, which later became sacred treasures for students, colleagues, family, and friends. The Katie Geneva Cannon Center for Womanist Leadership's social entrepreneurship initiative "Womanist Wares" encourages investing in Black women's creations, and products toward sustaining Black futures and freedom. All proceeds of The Womanist Marketplace support the programming and perpetuity of The Katie Geneva Cannon Center for Womanist Leadership.
